Lead Architect
VeroGuard Systems
Lead Architect on a hardware-anchored identity and authentication platform. Nearly eight years across the token, the services behind it, and the integrations into customer environments.
- Sole architect and lead engineer of the platform: around 96,000 lines of C# across six repositories, from the Windows logon integration to the browser and remote-desktop clients. Started every repository.
- Built a compile-time white-labelling system that ships one product under multiple customer brands from a single source tree. Per-brand COM identity with shared installer upgrade codes, so a rebranded build installs over its predecessor instead of beside it.
- Rebuilt the Windows logon integration from a blocking call into a cancellable state machine. Worst-case wait on a wrong card went from about two minutes to about 45 seconds; cancel went from impossible to sub-second.
- Cut about 1.4 seconds of fixed cost from every sign-in by instrumenting the path first, then removing a duplicated directory lookup and a synchronisation wait that was firing on every attempt.
- Traced an intermittent contactless-auth failure to the device side by ruling out every host-side cause with controlled tests, and narrowed an open-ended vendor request to one specific fix.
